the north A6 (highway)
Paris, north of France, Belgium,
Germany... :
Take the exit No 24.1 (BEAUNE SUD). After the toll follow signs to CHAGNY, CHALON
SUR SAONE for 20 km (13 miles). Then, follow the direction of MONTCEAU LES MINES. 5 to 6 km (3 to
4 miles) further down, you will be driving
along the "canal du centre", until you enter SAINT LEGER SUR
DHEUNE.
In the centre of the village, make a left at the stop sign towards CHALON SUR SAONE and MERCUREY.
200m (1/8 mile) up the road, turn left
to CHARRECEY before the curve.
After 3 km (2 miles), you get in CHARRECEY. 300 m; (1/4
mile) you come to a stop sign.
Turn right (rue du pont de la lune).
300 m (1/4 mile) later, you
pass over a bridge and then
make a right turn.
Drive straight on for about 4 km (3.5 miles), until you reach another
stop sign (in the meanwhile
you leave a small road which goes to CHATEL MORON (le bourg). Keep
going straight. After 800m
(0.5 mile), you reach 4 sharp curves (the first one right
then 2 left, then the last one right) and you find the sign of L'ABERGEMENT. On
your right hand-side you will see
a stone barn and next a house with
a veranda, white shutters
and a virginia creeper.
Ring the bell at the entrance of the veranda. Here you
are !
- coming from
the north (Paris, north of
France, Belgium, Germany...) by RN6 (main road - toll free) :
Following the RN6 you drive
through AUXERRE, AVALLON, SAULIEU. After the village of GAMAY 6 km (about 4 miles) on the
right, follow the sign towards MONTCEAU LES MINES. 5 to 6 km (3 to 4 miles) further down, you will be driving
along the "canal du centre", until you enter SAINT LEGER SUR
DHEUNE.
In the centre of the village, make a left at the stop sign towards CHALON SUR SAONE and MERCUREY.

- coming from
the east (CHALON SUR SAONE) :
Follow the signs towards AUTUN.
Go across the round-about. The road goes under the railway and you drive through the village of CHATENOY LE ROYAL. 7 km (4.5 miles) later, turn left
at the round-about towards CLUNY and 100m (300ft)
down, turn right (D48) towards
MELLECEY, VILLENEUVE EN MONTAGNE.
3 km LATER (2 miles), you drive through
MELLECEY. Keep going
straight on D48. Then, drive through
the small hamlets of
THEUREY and LES VEZIAUX. Keep going
straight on D48 (at this stage, just
ignore the road on the right going to CHATEL MORON-le
Bourg). 7 km after MELLECEY, just
3 after LES VEZIOTS, you will be in L'ABERGEMENT. After 200 m (1/10 miles), on your
left, you will see a blue
sign post mentionning
"chambres d'hôtes", turn right, to CHATEL
MORON le bourg.
About 200 m (1/10 mile) further up, a sign shows that the road has a very limited width.
Pass the narrow spot on your left hand-side, the stone house has white shutters
and is covered with Virginia creepers. It is our place. You find a parking place on the left side of the road, just afterthe barn. Get out of the
car, walk down the road, you
see a veranda, walk to its entrance, you just need
to ring the bell, for us to welcome
you.
- coming from south (LYON, MACON, GENEVA, the ALPS) by A6 (highway) you may leave :
at CHALON SUD
(south) :
Take the exit No 26 CHALON SUD. After
the toll when you reach the stop sign, turn left
to LE CREUSOT, MONTCEAU LES MINES. You are on an express way.
Drive for about 16 km (10 miles) till you reach the exit to SAINTE HELENE. From
that village, follow the signs towards VILLENEUVE EN
MONTAGNE. The road goes uphill
with many turns, when you
come to a T junction, make
a right towards L'ABERGEMENT 3 km (2 miles).
When you reach the sign L'ABERGEMENT drive
400 m (about ¼ mile) more, and turn left to CHATEL MORON le bourg.
About 200 m (1/10 mile) further down, a sign shows that the road has a very limited width.

at TOURNUS from south, south east (LYON, MACON, GENEVA, the ALPS by highway) or by RN6 (main road - toll free) :
exit 25 on A6. Take RN6 direction CHALON SUR SAONE, till you reach SENNECEY LE GRAND, after a few curves, a straight line. After 800m (half a mile), tur, left to LAIVES, BUXY.
In BUXY follow the signs to BISSEY SOUS
CRUCHOT, then to MOROGES and SAINTE HELENE. From that village, follow the signs towards VILLENEUVE EN MONTAGNE. The road goes uphill with
many turns, when you come to a T junction, make a right towards L'ABERGEMENT 3 km (2 miles).

-coming from north or northwest via AUTUN :
In AUTUN, follow the signs towards CHALON SUR SAONE, until you reach SAINT LEGER SUR DHEUNE.
Go straight on. You will pass
over a bridge over the canal du centre. 200m (1/8 mile) up the road, turn left to CHARRECEY before the curve.

the west (MONTCEAU LES MINES) :
Stay on the express way towards CHALON SUR SAONE; after a
few km (a few miles), you will
see the "canal du centre" on your right. Drive until you reach a big
round-about, near MONCHANIN. Keep
following the signs towards CHALON SUR SAONE.
Take the first exit on your
right "LES BEAUDOTS". Follow the signs to VILLENEUVE EN MONTAGNE. You cross the village, still straight on for 3 more km (2 miles), and you reach the sign
for "L'ABERGEMENT". Drive 400 m (¼ mile) more, and turn left towards
CHATEL MORON le bourg.
